Moving home is never easy. For days before the move, and on the big day itself, your home will be filled with all sorts of different workers. New homes, devoid of furniture and those day-to-day essential can look - and smell - a little strange, the emptiness almost seeming to exaggerate any lingering stale smells. The simplest way to give your new home a fragrance makeover is with the use of some of the new luxury home fragrance products which are out there, such as scented candles, fragrance diffusers or room sprays. With such a plethora of fragrance products on the market
Luxury reed diffusers how do you know which one to choose? We all have our own particular ideas about appealing colours and designs. However, aesthetic considerations aside, it is good advice, where possible, to stay away from home fragrances which derive their scent from artificial products. It is much better both from the fragrance point of view and from the heath standpoint to go for fragrances which are created using essential plant oils. That way not only do you get to enjoy your chosen fragrance in the purest, most natural form but you can also avoid some of the problems associated with cheap factory-produced or mass-market air fresheners or plug-ins, such a headaches or respiratory complaints.
When it comes to picking fragrances for your new home you will probably find that certain scents work best in certain rooms or areas of the home. For instance in the hall, reception or living rooms the most popular fragrances tend to be those welcoming, invigorating scents such as the citrus scents of grapefruit or orange blossom, but you could also consider the lively fragrance of bergamot for these rooms. What you are trying to achieve is an air of comfort and relaxation, both for you as you return home from a hard day's work, or for friends and family visiting your new home.
Scented candles are by some distance the most popular of all home fragrance products but they do have certain drawbacks, particularly associated with the risk of fire. For example it may not be convenient or sensible to leave lit candles burning in your hall or reception area, so in these areas the best advice is to opt for a reed diffuser instead. These work without the need for any flame or power supply. They also provide a delicate, continuous fragrance which is ideal to greet unexpected visitors - after all, you cannot have a candle burning twenty four hours a day, just in case guests arrive. Reed diffusers are also the ideal solution for other situations where it would be imprudent to leave a candle burning, for instance where children are playing unsupervised.
For other rooms in the home, such as the bedroom or bathroom, relaxing fragrances like chamomile or lavender work wonders. Remember the old-fashioned favourite tip of sprinkling some lavender or other scented oil or water on your pillow to help aid restful sleep? Well, the use of home fragrances is really just a modern-day equivalent. In the bathroom, there are few things more pleasant than taking a long luxurious soak while surrounded by your favourite scented candle. Or why not try a combination of two or three complimentary fragrances? The beautiful aroma and subtle glow of the flame combine to help create a relaxing oasis. And of course using scented candles in the bedroom can be both relaxing and romantic. However it is worth bearing in mind one word of caution. If you like to drift off to sleep while savouring your favourite fragrance it is probably not a good idea to do so with scented candles. It is never a good idea to leave candles burning while you sleep. In this situation it is much better rely on reed diffusers which allow you to enjoy the same lovely aromas but in complete safety.
